A 1,230-kW solar array was completed in a retirement community in Maryland.
Washington Gas Energy Systems Inc., ABM, Building Energy, Sol Systems and Clark EcoEnergy all took part in the project at the Glen Meadows Retirement Community which uses 4,180 solar panels. The ground-mounted solar project will be owned and operated by Washington Gas Energy Systems under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
Sol Systems acted as investment advisor to Washington Gas. Building Energy developed the project through a joint venture with ABM, which handled the engineering, procurement and construction.
Washington Gas Energy Systems owns 14 solar projects in Maryland, including a 1.26-MW solar array for Kent County, an 803-kW system at a middle school and two 2.5-MW projects built for the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission.
