B&W acquires industrial products, services firm

Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc. (NYSE: BWC) has successfully acquired Wisconsin-based MEGTEC, an industrial processes solutions provider, for $155 million.

MEGTEC will operate as a subsidiary under the trade name of Babcock & Wilcox MEGTEC (B&W MEGTEC). The company will continue to be headquartered in De Pere, Wisconsin. Management will also continue working under the new trade name.

B&W MEGTEC designs, engineers, manufactures and services air pollution control systems, coating, and drying equipment for the industrial sector. In addition, the company’s products include oxidizers, energy recovery systems, solvent recovery systems, distillation systems, scrubbers, wet electrostatic precipitators and other equipment for industrial applications.
