Pennsylvania offers grant, loan program for renewable development

Shell Chemical nears air permit for 250-MW power project in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett and the state’s Department of Environmental Protection have announced a new grant and loan program to further the development of renewable energy technologies.

The Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority (PEDA) announced the program, which will offer an estimated $12.5 million for hydro, solar, wind and biomass projects on a competitive basis.

Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations; Pennsylvania schools, colleges and universities; any Pennsylvania municipality; and public or private corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, associations and other legal business entities.

Applications are due by 4 p.m., August 15.
