Abengoa completes world’s largest single-axis PV solar facility

Abengoa has completed construction of the $365 million Mount Signal Solar facility, a 206-MW photovoltaic (PV) plant in Calexico, south east of California.

Abengoa served as the engineering, construction and commissioning for Silver Ridge Power. The site includes more than three million PV modules and is expected to offset 356,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Previously, Abengoa helped construct Solana, the world’s largest parabolic trough plant; Mojave, a 280-MW solar-thermal plant that will enter operation this year; and a new PV project in California for EDP Renovaveis.
