Chevron Energy Solutions and the Jefferson Elementary School District in California have dedicated a solar generation and energy efficiency project.
The project includes solar electric generation facilities at 16 district sites, including boiler replacements and heating system improvements. The project is expected to lower energy costs by 80 percent.
“Through this project, we’re making our schools more environmentally friendly places to learn and we’re teaching our children about renewable energy,” said Superintendent Bernie Vidales.
Chevron Energy Solutions was selected to design and build the project. Construction began in July 2013 and was completed earlier this year.
Chevron Energy Solutions is an installer of solar power in the U.S. public sector and has developed hundreds of projects that build renewable energy, increase energy efficiency, reduce energy costs and support sustainability.
