Production at the Olkiluoto 1 nuclear power plant in Finland was been cut back due to seawater leaking into the nuclear condenser.
According to YLE News, the plant’s power production has been limited to 300-MW as workers with TVO locate the leak and begin repairs. The leak was discovered when the reactor’s electrical conductivity was measured, the article said. A leaky condenser block was removed, and the leak is said to be small, around 2 litres per hour.
TVO said in the article is expects to return the unit to full production Tuesday morning. Unit 2 continues to run at full power.
