Limerick nuclear power unit back online after refueling outage

Exelon ends plans to uprate two nuclear power plants Limerick LaSalle Pennsylvania Illinois Wall Street Journal

Operators with Exelon (NYSE: EXC) returned Unit 1 at the Limerick Generating Station in Pennsylvania to full power after completing a scheduled refueling outage.

The outage began March 4 for refueling as well as to perform repairs on the turbine control system on the non-nuclear side of the plant. Nearly 2,500 workers installed new turbine blades, three transformers and nearly one-third of the reactor’s fuel.
