TradeWind Energy signed long-term power purchase agreements with the Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) for two wind power projects in Oklahoma.
The 20-year agreements are for the output from the 136-MW Mustang Run in Osage County and the 98-MW Breckinridge near Enid. The GRDA board approved both contracts. The GRDA said in a statement that its goal is to have a well-balanced and diversified generation portfolio.
GRDA recently signed a $77.8 million deal with Mitsubishi Hitachi for a 328-MW 501J natural gas-fired turbine and a 167-MW steam turbine to replace a coal-fired unit at the Grand River Energy Center in Oklahoma.
