Wind Coalition releases energy study for Oklahoma

The Wind Coalition is releasing a study analyzing the economic impact wind power may have in Oklahoma.

The study focuses on investment data, revenue paid to local landowners, taxes, and developer information for Oklahoma’s 26 active wind farms, according to the Associated Press.

The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) said Oklahoma’s wind power ranks ninth in the nation with 3,134-MW of installed wind capacity.

Last year, nearly 15 percent of electricity generated in Oklahoma came from wind power.
