The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has awarded OnForce Solar additional funding to develop and construct large-scale commercial solar projects in New York.
Three of the four solar projects awarded in this round of funding are located in the Bronx and one solar project is located in Westchester County in the City of Yonkers. Combined, these projects will generate 2.291-MW. By the end of the first year, 3,634,601 pounds of CO2 emissions will have been averted.
Governor Cuomo launched the NY-Sun initiative in 2012 to increase the amount of solar power produced in the state. A total of 299-MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity has been installed or is under development, administered by NYSERDA, New York Power Authority (NYPA) and Long Island Power Authority (LIPA).
