Martifer Solar will build five photovoltaic (PV) solar power plants that have a combined output of 78.4-MW in the United Kingdom.
The utility-scale plants are located Cambridgeshire, Devon, Nottingham and Swindon counties.
One project, located at Spittleborough Farm, has been sold to Lightsource Renewable Energy. Lightsource awarded Martifer Solar the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the four additional PV plants. In addition, Martifer will also handle the operation and maintenance of the plants, under a separate agreement.
Each plant will produce between 9-MW and 24.67-MW, resulting in the largest portfolio being built to date in the UK, according to Martifer Solar.
The plants will include a total of 308,418 modules in ground-mounted fixed structures and will offset approximately 31,582 tons of CO2 annually.
