Pepco signs contract for infrastructure improvements

Pepco Energy Services Inc., a subsidiary of Pepco Holdings Inc. (PHI) has entered into an Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) with Horry County, S.C. to install $8 million of energy conservation measures (ECMs) in more than 100 facilities, saving the County more than $600,000 annually.

Improvements include retrofitting, upgrading or replacing power transformers with high efficiency models and energy plant operation improvements.

The project should take 16 months to complete and will reduce the County’s energy costs by 22.5 percent.

The improvements will reduce the County’s carbon footprint by 3.48 million pounds per year.
