Southern Company announces management changes

Southern Company (NYSE: SO) Chairman, President and CEO Thomas Fanning announced several changes within the company’s executive management on Tuesday.

Kimberly Greene, president and CEO of the company’s Services division, will now serve as executive vice president and COO of Southern Company. She will oversee the company’s system operations.

Greene will replace Mark Crosswhite, who was appointed president and CEO of subsidiary Alabama Power.

Mark Lantrip, current treasurer of Southern Company and executive vice president of finance and treasurer of Southern Company Services, will replace Greene as president and CEO of Southern Company Services. Lantrip will be responsible for the company’s information technology, human resources, supply chain management and marketing and program management, as well as SouthernLINC Wireless and Southern Telecom.

Southern Company Services Vice President of Finance and Assistant Treasurer Xia Liu will become treasurer of Southern Company and senior vice president of finance and treasurer of Southern Company Services. She will be the lead for enterprise risk management, insurance, trust finance and corporate planning and budgeting.

New roles are effective March 1.
