Siemens (NYSE: SI) will supply 28, 2.3 MW wind turbines to the Windthorst-2 wind power project in Texas. A service agreement was also signed for the project.
The equipment for the turbines will be built at Siemens’ facilities in Iowa and Kansas. The service agreement includes Siemens’ remote monitoring and diagnostic solutions.
A majority interest in the Windthorst-2 project was recently sold to a fund managed by BlackRock. OwnEnergy will maintain a minority interest and will manage construction.
