NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey released a photo Tuesday of a space view of the world’s largest offshore wind farm.

The Landsat 8 satellite captured London Array, in the U.K., which includes 175 wind turbines that can generate up to 630-MW of energy.

In the photo you can see white dots that are actually the wind turbines spread throughout a 40 square mile radius. Also note the trail of wakes caused by several boats.

London Array became operational on April 8, 2013; the photo was captured just 20 days later.

An additional phase was added to the project and is currently under construction. When completed the offshore wind farm will cover 95 square miles.
