APR Energy receives extension for Libyan power contract

Florida-based APR Energy has received an extension for its 200-MW diesel power module project in Libya, the company announced Friday. The contract is on the same terms as the original contract.

The project was announced in June 2013 as an expansion to the company’s 250-MW gas turbine contract in Libya and created the largest single contract in the history of the fast-track power industry, according to the company. The combined 450-MW project is used to provide the Libyan people with interim power while the country rebuilds and improves its infrastructure.

The 250-MW gas turbine project is not due for renewable until this summer.
