Two wind projects acquired by Pattern Energy

U.S. Department of Energy DOE funding wind energy taller turbines research

Pattern Energy has acquired Grand Renewable, a 149-MW project in Haldiman County, Ontario and Panhandle 2, a 182-MW wind project in Carson County, Texas.

The projects will add 214-MW to Pattern Energy’s portfolio, upon completion.

Construction on the Grand Renewable project began September 2013 and expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2014. Grand Renewable is being built with 67 Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbines, according to Renewable Energy Focus.

Panhandle 2 consists of  79 Siemens 2.3 MW wind turbines and began construction during the execution of the acquisition.
