Trinity completes 12.3-MW solar power installation on NJ military base

Trinity Solar announced it has completed a 12.3-MW solar installation at a privatized housing community at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey. The community is owned by United Communities LLC.

The solar power system is expected to provide more than 30 percent of the community’s annual energy usage.

The project required installing more than 10,000 solar modules on more than 650 rooftops and connecting then in just more than eight months, according to Trinity. The project will help the Department of Defense reach its goal of deploying 3 GW of renewable energy on military installations and obtaining 25 percent of its total power requirements from independent renewable sources by 2025.
