Google announced last week it would be partnering with global investment firm KKR to invest in six utility-scale solar power projects in California and Arizona. The company will be investing $80 million in the projects, which will have a combined capacity of 106 MW.
The solar facilities will be developed by Recurrent Energy, according to a post on Google’s official blog. The company previously partnered with KKR and invested $94 million in four solar facilities, also developed by Recurrent, in 2011.
According to Google, the company has committed more than $1 billion to renewable energy projects globally.
