ABB, Bondfield to build solar power plant for Canadian Solar

Canadian Solar Solutions Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc., has selected ABB Inc. and its consortium partner Bondfield Construction Co. Ltd. to build a 100-MW turnkey solar photovoltaic power plant for the Grand Renewable Energy Project. The project will be Canada’s largest photovoltaic project when completed.

Canadian Solar Solutions is serving as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the project, which is being financed by Connor Clark & Lunn Infrastructure and developed by Samsung Renewable Energy Inc.

ABB will also be responsible for engineering, electrical installation, commissioning and performance testing of the plant, which is expected to be fully operational in 2015.

The Grand Renewable Energy Park Project will also have a 150-MW wind project on site.
