Financing is now in place for a combined cycle natural gas-fired plant in Louisiana and construction will begin soon, according to a report from the Houma Courier.
The 65-MW plant will provide energy for parts of Terrebonne Parish, according to the report. The facility will be owned by Louisiana Energy Power Authority, with 25 MW of that generation being used by the parish.
The total project cost is about $124 million, and it is expected to be operational in October 2015, according to the Courier.
