Black & Veatch and Brightergy will partner to develop $100 million in solar power projects over the next three years, the companies announced Tuesday. The development will focus on photovoltaic solar rooftop projects generally ranging from 25 kW to 2 MW.
Brightergy will serve as the project developer and provide sales, marketing and financing resources, while Black & Veatch will provide engineering, procurement and construction experience.
Part of the development will include Black & Veatch installing commercial PV rooftop systems in the Kansas City area, and the venture will look at other parts of the U.S. to address the growing demand for renewable energy.
Black & Veatch has assisted owners in developing and building more than 2,000 MW of solar power facilities, while Brightergy has developed more than 600 rooftop solar projects in the Midwest.
