Energy Capital Group announces 300 MW solar power project in Utah

Energy Capital Group LLC has announced it is developing a 300 MW solar power project in Millard County adjacent to the Intermountain Power Plant. The project, ECG Utah Solar One, will cost an estimated $600 million and will be built on 1,754 acres leased from the Utah School and Institutional Trust Land Administration.

According to ECG, the project has conducted the required biological study, cultural survey, entered the interconnection queue, is working with Millard County on the conditional use permit and is in the Utah Alternative Energy Development Incentive application process.

The site’s infrastructure already includes a HVDC transmission line that travels directly to California, ECG stated in a release.
