Dominion (NYSE: D) has closed its deal to sell the coal-fired Brayton Point Power Station in Massachusetts, as well as the Kincaid Power Station and its interest in the Elwood Power Station, both in Illinois, to Energy Capital Partners, according to a report from the Boston Globe.
Energy Capital Partners paid $472 million for the three properties, a Dominion spokesman told the Globe. The company did not disclose the price of the individual properties.
The sale is part of the company’s strategy to exit the merchant power business, according to the Globe.
