Xcel Energy proposes 150 MW wind energy project

Xcel Energy proposes 150 MW Border Winds Project North Dakota RES America Development

Xcel Energy (NYSE: XEL) proposed a 150 MW wind energy project to North Dakota regulators.

The Border Winds Project is the fourth new wind resource proposed by the company in its Upper Midwest service area. RES America Developments Inc. would develop the project and then transfer ownership to Xcel.

Xcel submitted a request to purchase an additional 1,500 MW of wind, including 200 MW of wind in Minnesota and North Dakota.
