The Kudankulam nuclear power plant in Tamil Nadu, along the coast of southern India, will begin delivering power to the grid in mid-to-late August, according to a report from the UKâs Daily Mail. The plant went critical at midnight on July 13.
The Kudankulam plant has been surrounded by controversy as a wave of protest moved to block the reactor from going online. In early May, the Indian Supreme Court issued a decision dismissing safety concerns and paving the way for the plant to go online.
