Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas Inc. announced it will be supplying a natural gas-powered combined-cycle power train to the Carty Generating Station, a new gas turbine combined-cycle power plant being built for Portland General Electric near Boardman, Ore.
Mitsubishi received the order from Abengoa through its U.S. subsidiary. The power train will include Mitsubishi’s M501GAC gas turbine, SRT-50 reheat steam turbine and heat recovery steam generator.
The Carty Generating Station will have 440 MW of baseload capacity when completed in 2016. The plant is the second in PGE’s fleet to use Mitsubishi’s power train technology.
Mitsubishi Power Systems Americas will also provide the station with turbine maintenance, repair and outage services, replacement parts supply and dedicated remote monitoring for its gas turbine under a separate long-term service agreement.
