Gas, coal boilers to receive emissions controls

Fuel Tech Inc. (Nasdaq: FTEK) received two domestic air pollution control contracts for $10.5 million.

A Southern utility ordered nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction projects on three coal-fired boilers. The second contract is for an engineering release for a conventional selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system that will be installed on an industrial gas-fired boiler to lower NOx emissions while it undergoes a production expansion. The system includes the SCR, flow mixing devices, ammonia injection grid and aqueous ammonia feed system.

Deliveries for both contracts are scheduled for late 2013.
