Judge could rule today on dismissal of Y-12 intruder charges

The federal judge overseeing the trial of an 83-year-old nun and two fellow anti-nuclear protesters charged with breaking into the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge could rule as early as Wednesday on whether or not to dismiss the most serious of the charges against the accused, the Associated Press reports.

The three are accused of painting slogans and splattering human blood at the Y-12 facility, deeds the defense contends were symbolic acts of protest but which the prosecution insists represented a serious security breach with reverberating effects on the Y-12 facility.
