An explosion at the 3,166 MW coal-fired Plant Bowen coal-fired power plant in Bartow County, Ga. resulted in four minor injuries, according to a report from the Cartersville Daily Tribune News.

Three of the injured employees were treated on site, while the other was transported to a hospital before being released, according to the report.

The explosion occurred within a generator of Unit 2 while the unit was being brought down for a maintenance outage, though the exact cause of the explosion is still under investigation. Initial reports stated the explosion occurred within a turbine.

Georgia Power issued a release stating that while all four of the plant’s units were taken offline, the incident will not interrupt service to any customers.
