Nuclear reactor in Brazil reconnects to power grid

Brazil plans to invest $150 million through 2016 on safety upgrades at its two nuclear reactors, Angra 1 and 2, the Global Post reports.

The investments come as part of a Fukushima Response Plan, which includes 30 studies and 28 projects to be undertaken between now and 2016 to improve nuclear safety, according to the Post. Work on a third, 1,300 MW reactor at the Angra facility is scheduled to begin in 2015, with four new nuclear plants planned for other locales.
