Alstom enters Canadian wind energy market with turbine supply agreement

Alstom and NaturEner Energy Canada Inc. have entered into an agreement for the supply of up to 414 MW of wind turbines to be installed at NaturEner’s Wild Rose Projects in Alberta, marking Alstom’s entry into the Canadian wind energy market.

The agreement includes 138 ECO 110, 3 MW wind turbines, and 10 years of maintenance services.

The €420 million ($546.4 million) project will be built in two phases, with Wild Rose 1 scheduled to enter commercial operations in 2014. Wild Rose 2 is scheduled for completion in 2015.

NaturEner said it expects to begin construction on the first phase in late 2013 and the second phase a year later.
