Vogtle nuclear reactor remains stranded at Savannah port

A Westinghouse AP1000 nuclear reactor intended for installation at the Vogtle nuclear power plant near Waynesboro, Ga., is still waiting in limbo at the port of Savannah, where it has been since the specialized rail car designed to transport the unit broke down on December 15, 2012, The Aiken Leader reports.

Details about the stranded shipment, or the cause of the original breakdown, have not been forthcoming, according to the news site.
