Oyster Creek nuclear power plant back to full power

After a planned refueling and maintenance outage that began on October 22, Exelon Corp. (NYSE: EXC)’s Oyster Creek nuclear plant resumed full-power operations on Dec. 4.

The 636 MW plant, situated 60 miles east of Philadelphia, supplies enough electricity to power 600,000 homes.  During the outage more than 1,000 additional workers took part in thousands of inspections and maintenance activities, and replaced one third of the reactor’s fuel to keep it running for another two year cycle.
