EDF Renewable Energy completes construction on wind power project

EDF Renewable Energy, formerly enXco, has completed the development and construction of the Shiloh IV Wind Project Sept. 24 with a blade signing ceremony. The 102.5 MW wind project is expected to begin delivering electricity for Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E, NYSE: PCG) in December 2012.

The Shiloh IV Wind Project in Solano County, Calif., is among the largest repowering projects in the country with upgraded older technology, allowing for increased generation of energy with fewer wind turbines. Approximately 235 Kenetech 100 kW turbines originally installed in 1989 were removed and replaced with 50 REpower turbines, each with a rated capacity of 2.05 MW.

EDF Renewable Energy developed, built and will own the Shiloh IV Wind Project, while PG&E will purchase the power generated under a 25-year power purchase agreement. EDF Renewable Services will provide operations and maintenance services for the life of the project.
