MiaSole, a California-based manufacturer of copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) thin-film photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, said Aug. 7 that it will reorganize manufacturing and operations.
MiaSole said it will reorganize its workforce to retain employees in manufacturing and operations so it can continue strategic discussions with potential partners to increase efficiency and expand sales. A press release did not mention the number of layoffs, but an article in VentureWire reports more than 200 employees will be let go. The company received government tax credits but did not use them.
