Wind power project in Brazil close to producing electricity

Brazilian utility CPFL Energia (NYSE: CPL) said it is in the final phase of construction on its 188 MW Santa Clara wind farm in Rio Grande do Norte state, according to BNamericas.

The utility is in the process of installing the shared connection transmission facility it needs to begin operating under government regulations, the article said.

The project is expected to begin operations some time in the third quarter.
