N.C. Utilities Commission to question former Progress CEO

The North Carolina Utilities Commission has scheduled a hearing with ex-Progress Energy CEO Bill Johnson, who was ousted as president and CEO after the company’s merger with Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK). On July 10, the Commission held a hearing with Jim Rogers, now Chairman, President and CEO of the merged Duke conglomerate.

The hearing with Johnson will be held on July 19 starting at 10 a.m. Eastern Time. The Commission has also ordered that employment contracts for Johnson and other communications regarding his dismissal be brought to the hearing.
