Argentina-based Impsa’s Brazilian subsidiary Wind Power Energia applied for a $65 million loan from the Inter-American Developmental Bank (IDB) to finance a 65 MW wind project in Uruguay, according to Business News Americas.
Total investment in the El Libertador wind project is expected to reach $170 million, the article said. The project consists of one 50 MW and one 14.7 MW module. Venti Energia and Innovent, both subsidiaries of Wind Power Energia, are managing the project through Central de Generacion Eolica Libertador, the article said.
Uruguay’s state power company UTE signed a power purchase agreement for the wind farms.
