A bluff collapsed near the construction site of We Energies’ 615 MW Oak Creek coal-fired power plant in Wisconsin on Oct. 31.
News reports said no one was injured when the collapse stared an apparent mudslide that sent several construction trailers full of tools and equipment toward Lake Michigan. Workers were installing emissions control equipment at the time of the accident. There are no reports of any damage to the plant.
Officials with We Energies reportedly said one area is being checked for soil stability and officials are assessing the environmental impact of any materials that ended up in the lake.
