Natural gas-fired power plant planned for Wyoming

Cheyenne Light, Fuel & Power, a unit of Black Hills Corp. (NYSE: BKH), filed for a certificate of public convenience and necessity with the Wyoming Public Service Commission to build and operate a 120 MW, $158 million natural gas-fired power plant.

The plant would use three simple-cycle, natural-gas-fired combustion turbines, each with a gross capacity of 40 MW totaling around 120 MW.

If approved, construction could begin in 2013 and the facility could start commercial operation by 2014.
