Consolidated Edison Inc. (Con Edison) said its annual greenhouse gas emissions have dropped 35 percent since 2005, according to Bloomberg.
The company said it expects further reduction of carbon output as it shifts to using more natural gas for electricity.
Con Edison released its findings in a sustainability report showcasing its efforts to use more renewable energy sources and reduce carbon emissions, the article said. The company reportedly said sales of electricity from renewable sources rose 25 percent at its unit, Con Edison Solutions, in 2010.
