Japan new aftershock

The U.S. Geological Survey said a 7.4-magnitude aftershock hit off the coast of Japan April 7 in the same area where a 9.0 magnitude earthquake caused a tsunami in March.

The Japan meteorological agency issued a tsunami warning for a wave up to 3 feet off the northeastern coast of the country. Officials say the earthquake hit 25 miles under the water and 90 miles from Fukushima off the coast of the Miyagi prefecture, which was already heavily damaged by last month’s earthquake and tsunami.
