Daewoo Engineering picked as main bidder for Nigerian plant

Daewoo Engineering & Construction, South Korea’s fourth largest builder, has been selected as a prime bidder for an 828bn won ($735.3m) order to build a thermal power station in southern Nigeria.

If Daewoo Engineering finalizes the deal with Total E&P Nigeria Ltd., the builder will construct the plant with a generating capacity of 420 MW for 34 months, it said in a statement.

The formal deal is expected to be finalized within the first half of the year, Daewoo Engineering said.
