Ireland to review electricity, gas privatizations

Ireland will review the electricity and gas sectors with a view to proceeding with privatisations, according to the country’s aid deal with the EU and IMF.
“The government will undertake an independent assessment of the electricity and gas sectors with a view to enhancing their efficiency,” the deal said, reported Reuters.
It added that authorities would subsequently set targets for the “possible privatisation” of state-owned assets, including Bord Gais and ESB (Electricity Supply Board).
