Ohio wind construction

The Ohio Power Siting Board granted permission for Horizon Wind Energy to build the 150.4 MW second phase of its Timber Road wind farm.

The wind farm plans to use 98 wind turbines and is selecting from among Acciona’s 1.5 MW turbines, GE’s 1.6 MW machines or Vestas’s 1.8 MW turbines.

The Ohio Power Siting Board has now certificated six wind projects across the state, comprising up to 1,032.3 MW of capacity from 555 turbines.

The first phase of the Timber Road wind farm was approved by the board in August. It consisted of 48.6 MW of generating capacity using 35, 2.1 MW turbines.
