Vestas snares 86 MW wind power order in Brazil

Vestas has received an order for a total of 86 MW in Brazil consisting of 21 units of the V100-1.8 MW wind turbine and 16 wind turbines of the V90-3.0 MW turbine.
The wind farm projects will be located in the north-eastern Bahia state and in the Rio Grande do Norte state, respectively.
The wind energy order comprises delivery, transportation and installation of the wind turbines, a VestasOnline Business SCADA system, as well as a five-year service and availability agreement. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to start in September 2011 and the projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2011.
At the customer’s request, additional details about the customer and the wind farm projects cannot be disclosed.
“We are very pleased to announce this important contract, as, among other things, it shows the customer’s trust in our new product, the V100-1.8 MW wind turbine. The wind turbine is an excellent match to the Brazilian wind energy market and we look forward to introducing this new model in Brazil,” said Juan Araluce, President of Vestas Mediterranean.
