Braidwood back online

24 August 2010– Exelon’s 2,330 MW Braidwood nuclear power plant was back up and running as of August 23 after both units at the plant were shut down the previous week.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said the shut down may have been caused by an electrical failure.

Unit 1 was up to full power on August 24 from 86 percent the day before, while Unit 2 was at 85 percent from just under 48 percent the previous day.
