23 August 2010 — Nalco Mobotec Inc. announced a five-year, $3.6 million contract with Arizona Electric Power Cooperative for mercury emission control at AEPCO’s Apache Generating Station in Cochise, Ariz. Equipment will help AEPCO cut mercury emissions to comply with Arizona’s mercury emissions regulations, which take effect on Jan. 1, 2011.

Nalco Mobotec said its Mercontrol 7895 technology can achieve an 80 percent reduction in mercury emissions, exceeding Arizona’s mandate of 50 percent. The technology will allow AEPCO to meet and potentially exceed the regulation while maintaining the marketability of coal combustion products.

Under the agreement, Nalco Mobotec will deliver and install injection equipment as well as supplying and delivering the Mercontrol 7895 product.
