Utah nuclear waste storage

27 July 2010– A federal judge has ruled a proposed nuclear waste storage project in Utah can go forward. The judge threw out a U.S. Interior Department decision that ended the plan, according to The Salt Lake Tribune.

The judge said the Interior Department’s decision to stop plans for long-term storage on the Skull Valley Goshute Indian Reservation was “arbitrary and capricious” and said the department must reconsider requests from project proponents.
